We will be camping along the banks of the Pagan River in Smithfield, VA
The planned activities will include a hike at Chippokes State Park where we will explore the shoreline of the James River and look for fossils and shark’s teeth. There will be fishing available from the dock where it is prime season for puppy drum and striped bass. If the weather is still warm we are also exploring an option to kayak. Scouts will have an opportunity to work on advancement and demonstrate their cooking skills.
Please be at the CUMC parking lot at 4:45 pm for a 5 pm departure. We will eat dinner in the cars as we drive south. Bring money for ice cream as we might make a stop at an old fashioned ice cream parlor.
For adults, there are 4 bedrooms available for any that prefer not to tent.
Return will be Sunday prior to lunch and a Remind Notice will be sent when we depart.
