When: April 28-30 2023

Where: Camp Wilson (Pohick Bay), a few miles from the Lorton Exit off I-95.

What is the Projectoree?

The Projectoree is like a mini-Olympic competition among numerous troops from the Chain Bridge District.  Scouts from the Chain Bridge District will compete for bragging rights in each game. Each game is run by senior scouts from their respective Troops.

Note: you MUST wear Class Bs for competing--either a Troop t-shirt, Projectoree t-shirt (old or new) or other Scout t-shirt (from a high adventure base, Sinoquipe, etc). If you want to get a new Projectoree t-shirt, add it to your signup when you are using CheddarUp.

The tentative lineup of games this year are:

  • Pipeline
  • Bad Plumbing
  • Patrol See-saw (we need 3-6 older Scouts to manage this game all day)
  • Caber Toss
  • Radioactive Baskeball
  • Walk the Plank
  • Nuclear Reactor
  • Spider Web Escape
  • Firebuilding
  • Obstacle Course

After the games there will be a volleyball tournament and service hours opportunities.

Saturday Night Activities:

All Troops will perform a skit or song at the closing bonfire. There will also be an American flag retirement ceremony, more songs, and the announcement of the Projectoree results.

Fees: $35 for the Projectoree, $12 more if you want a Projectoree t-shirt.

Timing: We'll leave from the Church promptly at 5pm on Friday and return on Sunday around 10-11am.

Meals: Bring dinner so we can head straight into camp. Plan for breakfast Saturday and Sunday, and dinner Saturday. No need to plan for Saturday lunch: hot dogs and chips will be provided.

IMPORTANT! WE NEED A PARENT VOLUNTEER WHO CAN ATTEND AND LEARN THE SCORING SYSTEM. Our Troop is in charge of entering the scores of each game into a spreadsheet. Ideally this volunteer can attend the next few years of Projectorees so we don't have to retrain each year. This volunteer would also manage confirming fees have been paid and drivers are available. Note that it's close enough that you can drive up for the day Saturday.
