Troop 149:

You are invited to join local charity Hardt of Christmas on Saturday, December 17th from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. for their annual volunteer event.  The charity is seeking our help this holiday season to collect food items and holiday treats as part of their charity for 75 families in partnership with the Arlington Food Assistance Center.

Your participation can include following:

  • Shop for the following requested items to fill one food bag.  You can sign up for as many food bags as you would like, but each bag must include these items.  The Hardt of Christmas team will supply logo bags to transfer your items into on December 17th.  Bring your items to the volunteer event on December 17th.

    • 1 bottle vegetable cooking oil

    • 1 bag of granulated white sugar

    • 1 bag of flour (all purpose or masa)

    • Low sodium canned soups (any flavor)

    • Ground coffee (can or bag is fine)

    • Holiday item(s) such as gift cards, holiday treats, ingredients to make cookies, cookie cutters, and cookbooks to name a few ideas

  • Help pack bags that others drop off at the volunteer event on December 17th.

  • Decorate ornaments that will be added to all back at the volunteer event on December 17th

If you aren’t able to attend the December 17th event, you can still donate a food bag.  You can drop off your bag on the 17th or the Hardt of Christmas team will arrange a time to pick up the donated bag from you  house.

The bag drop off, stuffing and ornament decoration event will be held December 17th at 9:00 a.m. in the DHMS parking lot (near the soccer field).  The Hardt’s be providing holiday snacks to all participants!
