Troop 149 Scouts-This year you will have an option of camping or staying in one of the treehouse cottages. Please indicate on the signup which you prefer. We have 33 beds in total within the (heated) cottages. First to sign up, first to get a bed!

Where:
The Treehouse Camp, also known as the Maple Tree Campground. This is a unique campground about 1.5 hours away in Maryland close to Antietam and Harpers Ferry in a beautiful wooded setting right on the Appalachian Trail. Their website is:
http://www.thetreehousecamp.com/

$20 cash to grubmasters at departure Friday Nov 18. ($25 for adults)

What to bring:
All: sleeping bag, pad (for the possibility of sleeping on the floor), and warm clothes!
Webelos 2: use the packing list in your Webelos Handbook. At the meeting on November 14th, we will review the list and plan meals. It will be chilly at camp! Warm clothes, dry socks, and a mess kit are needed. Please bring a sleeping bag, pad, and tent if you plan on tent camping.
Adults: pack for cool (cold) weather. You will also need a sleeping bag, sleeping pad, and a tent if you have one. Make sure you have a cup for hot beverages if you will be drinking coffee.

Food:
Webelos 2 Scouts who plan to come should attend the Boy Scout troop meeting on Monday, Nov 14 at CUMC starting at 7 pm. The boys will team up with a Boy Scout patrol and plan a menu for the weekend. A Boy Scout family will buy the food. We call these Scouts the "grubmasters." $20 cash should be given to your grubmaster. All the adults, including the leaders, will eat as a group. Adults have their own grubmaster who will need to be given $25 cash to cover the cost of food.

Schedule:
All Scouts and drivers should arrive at the CUMC parking lot no later than 4:30 pm on Friday the 18th. Directions will be available. It's about a 2 hour drive to The Treehouse Camp. Don’t forget to bring a bag dinner, and we will eat in the car on the way or when we get there.
On Saturday, the older Scouts will lead the Webelos in activities throughout the day ending in dinner, skits, and campfire. On Sunday morning, we get up and have a cold breakfast. We break camp and aim to get back to Arlington around noon on the Lorcom Lane side of CUMC. We'll return whatever troop camping gear we used to the Scout Room......and go home.
