Details:
The original
Florida National High Adventure Sea Base, located in Islamorada FL,
includes a marina with a 300 foot long dock for sailing vessels. Just
a
few miles offshore, an extensive underwater living coral reef forms a
barrier protecting the keys. Here, among pillars of living coral, you
come face to face with thousands of multi-hued tropical fish in water so
clear that while swimming, you have the sensation
of floating in mid air.
This
high adventure camp is exciting, ruggedly challenging, and excellent for larger groups - Pack your sea
bag for the Sea Exploring program (see details at https://www.bsaseabase.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/2022-Sailing-Participant-Guide-.-Editable.pdf)
Team Robinson (ASM Bushnell and Navy Family Robinson) will take a large crew on the sailing adventure of yesteryear! We will sail a large (75' or larger), gaff-rigged topsail schooner (sailboat), fully equipped and prepared to provide an unforgettable adventure swimming/snorkeling the beautiful Keys’ reefs, fishing, and hands-on sailing with a port-o-call in Key West.
- Total cost including BSA fees, plane fare, ground transportation, and a night or two of hotels, will run at least $2000 per person.
- While
Spring Break 2023 seems a ways off, this adventure will require
invdividuals
to commit to attend by this February 28 with $300 down payment to
commit. We'll be providing specific dates for planning purposes
(including anticipated incremental payment points) once we have an
indication of interest from the survey.
- Scouts
must be 13 or older and be
the rank of First Class
- Open to the first 20 people to sign up (maximum)
Thank you,
Jillene and Kris Robinson
