Hey everyone,

I’m Peter Collins and I’ve been a member of Troop 149 since 5th grade. I am about to begin work on my Eagle Scout project, which is building and installing six garden beds at Bailey’s Primary School in support of the elementary life science curriculum. I will have a work day at my house (700 N. Edison St.) on July the 25th from 10:00–2:00 to construct the boxes, and two work days at Bailey’s Primary School (6111 Knollwood Dr, Bailey's Crossroads, VA 22041) on August 1st and 2nd to install the boxes, also from 10:00–2:00. (Note: There are two Bailey’s Elementary Schools: make sure you have the right one.)

I would really appreciate it if any Scouts, parents, siblings, or friends would volunteer to help with my Eagle Scout project. You can volunteer for as long as you want, on as many days as you please. It’s customary to help older scouts with their Eagle Scout projects so that when you’re working on your own project, you can expect the same from other Scouts. As also is customary, there will be pizza for volunteers between shifts, as well as some other snacks. Please bring some work gloves if you have them, to prevent splinters while handling wood. If you have tools such as cordless drills or electric screwdrivers, those would be very helpful.

Some COVID related details:
Please bring your own mask and gloves, we will have some in case you forget, but it would be better if everyone just had their own. We will have disinfectant available each day and everyone will be required to keep six feet apart. We’ll be doing all we can to limit the spread of COVID.

Thank you all,
